Sneak Peak And 2 New Decks. 2 Post's in 1

Hey guy's

So recently I attended the Storm Of Ragnarok Sneak Preview at my new local store. So I'm basically going to describe the day and what happened.

So I arrive at the venue early and buy a Red Nova Dragon tin and some Yusei 3 duelist packs, you will understand why later in the post. Anyways yeah after all the commotion I play a few games with my new X Saber Deck and was suprised with the results. The extra Effect Veiler and Pashuul really helped and made the deck that much better in a lot of matchups which made me happy. I also managed to trade my 2 ultra Mystical Space Typhoon's and 1 Super Nimble Mega Hamster for a super rare Dark Armed Dragon, a Gold Necro Gardna, Fabled Grimro and 2 Blackwing Vayu The Emblem Of Honor.

So after finally sitting everyone we get our pack and open them. I pull ok I guess. I got the Six Samurai field spell along with some of the samurai commons. I also got a Worm King and the Nordic Search Trap Card (Gleipnir, Fetter's of Fenrir). So not terrible pulls. I build my deck using what I have. I basically went for beatdown with samurai along with control from my worms.

So I wont go into too much detail but I win all 5 rounds and make top 4. I then am confident in winning the mat and play against the only other guy who was undefeated. He pulled a lot of samurai cards along with Smoke Signal's and it made me lose due to his sheer speed of his deck. So I lose and am generally dissapointed after I realised I lost game 1 due to a misplay on my part.

So after the Sneak I got the rest of the packs along with the T.O and we open them. He pulls ok in rarities, however he pulls Kizan and 1 Kageki along with another Shien's Smoke Signal. I pulled pretty much the exact same as I did in the sneak. I got another Gleipnir and another Worm King but I did pull a bunch of Kagemusha and Kageki so they were helpful in trades.

So overall the sneak wasn't terrible but wasn't great either. I really wanted the mat and was sure I would win but oh well I'm hoping to win the next tournament there on the 6th March which will hopefully deal with Samurai.

So after I finished opening packs I managed to trade for a 3rd Blackwing Vayu The Emblem Of Honor and also managed to get a third Legionaire along with some commons I needed. I then got to test against the T.O with his new Samurai deck. It was basically the builds that have been on Shriek.

Basics of the games were I had to either draw decent and have some kind of out to Kageki and Gateway or draw Boggart Faultroll and hope he didn't have Solemn Warning or Book Of Moon

The 1st match I won and the second match he won then we played a few games just testing the decks and seeing what worked and what didn't. Seemed Samurai were good but as always not as good as the hype. They are very difficult to deal with and have many big plays however like all decks they can be stopped and can be beaten. Just annoying that if they open godly and go first and you don't have effect veiler you lose which is annoying more than anything.

I also forgot to mention after the Sneak Peak I managed to trade my first Gleipnir, Fetters of Fenrir and some other jank stuff for a ultimate Trident Dragion and a Dragunity Knight - Vajriyana, which leads me onto my next topic. My 2 new decks I'm building and new video updates.

Ok so the first deck I'm building is going to be a Dragunity deck. Ever since the structure was released in Japan I have seen a lot of potential in them and have tested a lot of version ranging from Volcanic shell varients and Dandylion varients to the simple Light and Darkness dragon loop varient and some other weird ones I found along the way, however this build below seems to be the most consistant and as it's only for fun you'll see how it works and what not.

3 Dragunity Dux
3 Dragunity Aklys
3 Dragunity Phalanx
3 Dragunity Legionaire
2 Dragunity Arma Mystletain
2 Dragunity Arma Leyvaten
1 Morphing Jar
1 Sangan

3 Terraforming
3 Dragon Ravine
3 Book Of Moon
3 Cards Of Conscanence
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Monster Reborn
1 Pot Of Avarice
1 Giant Trunade
1 Foolish Burial
1 Mind Control
1 Dark Hole

3 Royal Decree

So this is the build I'm going to be building when the new Structure deck is released. All I'm currently missing now is the new structure deck cards, 1 Cards of Conscanence,2 Dragunity Knight Vajriyana and 1 Dragunity Knight Gae Dearg

Along with the Dragunity Deck I also plan to build a Karakuri deck, however not based soley on the theme but rather as an engine much like Rock stun uses Ko'aki Meiru as an engine.

3 Machina Fortress
3 Machina Gearframe
3 Karakuri Ninja "Kuick"
3 Karakuri Soldier "Nisamu"
2 Karakuri Strategist "Nishipachi"
2 Karakuri Watchdog "Siazan"
2 Cyber Dragon
1 Card Trooper
1 Sangan

3 Book Of Moon
2 Mystical Space Typoon
1 Limiter Removal
1 Monster Reborn
1 Giant Trunade
1 Pot Of Avarice
1 Mind Control
1 Dark Hole

2 Dust Tornado
2 Urgent Tuning
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Call Of The Haunted
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force

So the basis of the deck is basically to use the Karakuri engine to synchro the 2 Karakuri Synchro's and gain advantage through urgent tuning and Karakuri Ninja. The Machina engine is just there for extra beatdown and deck thinning. Machina fortress can easily be used aswell to help get Ninja a tuner in the grave to revive. Basic turn would be summon Machina Gearframe to get Fortress. Drop Fortress and Karakuri Warchdog to special summon him then set Urgent Tuning. Following turn summon Karakuri Strategist, synchro for "Burei" and then get Ninja then attack with Ninja and get out Strategist use effect on itself to get a draw from "Burei" then use urgent tuning to get out another Burei and use effect to get out either another Ninja, Strategist or any other Karakuri. So the deck can synchro and spam monster's easily aswell as Synchro for many monster's. Either way the deck is a lot of fun. At the moment I have very little of the deck, however I plan to get most of it when I go to my locals back at home this weekend.

Anyways thats it for that post. Hope you guy's enjoyed reading this and found something interesting. Hopefully my next post will be at some point before my locals talking about X Sabers and the future they have in the new metagame along with updates on my Karakuri testing.

I'm Baaaaaaack !!!!!!!

Hey guys,

So after what seems forever I have decided to come back to blogging so this post is mainly going to be about my going on's and things as well as my new outlook on the game and my thoughts for the format we are about to enter with the release of Legendary Six Samurai.

Ok so first is me. So basically the last time I was posting I was in college and have now since graduated and moved on with my life. I am now at university developing my skills as a film maker and working hard to achieve the best I can. So basically before the end of my last post I was working very hard on my final grades and films for college and had very little time to post on this blog. I then moved onto the summer and realised the game was becoming increasingly expensive and it was costing money that I just didn't have and would get worse as a student. I also believed I was moving on with my life. Not to say I wasn't enjoying the game or anything, but moving to university meant less time and less money would be available to me to play. So I then made the decision of building my Elemental Hero deck again and quiting the game while having this deck for fun matches between friends.

Ok so soon after arriving at university I found a forbidden planet within walking distance and went to get some death note wall scrolls to decorate my room with which was great and I noticed that they ran a Yugioh day on Sundays and would soon be running Konami offical tournaments. This made me realise that I would have a local tournament soon to go to and made me want to start the game again. So after lots of debating and realising although a student I had money even after all the shopping and general living costs were out the way. I also was going home every 2 - 3 weeks which also happened to be when my original locals was and after time I realised I could still play the game. Yaaaaaaay :)

Ok so enough of my life story and more to the point. So basically I'm back and playing Yugioh again, however with a newer outlook on the game. So when I was in college I was always trying to find new ways to exploit parts of the game. An example would be when everyone played X Saber's and Infernity, I played Flamvell with lots of tech and did really well. Well I still have this philosphy, however I have a larger amount of money and a lot more cards available to me. Right now I'm playing X Saber as I feel it has a good matchup against everything and gets better against Samurai with both Solemn Warning and Saber Hole.

Ok the format. Since playing I realised the current format is similiar to that of last march when Quickdraw first made it's SJC appearance. It's a slow format where control is a good deck right now and overpowers some of the faster decks in the format, however unlike that format where Flamvell, Quickdraw and Petco were considered the top decks, this format we have atleast 5 different decks which are all good. Scraps, X Saber, Plant's, Fish OTK, Lightsworn, Formula Monarchs and many others. So lets get to the point of why people viewed this post. My thoughts on next format.

Next format is basically you either get owned by Samurai or you win due to going first. Samurai like any deck can be countered, however people like myself and many other players do not want to have to build there deck around beating one deck. So what is the simple solution to beating samurai. Stop the Summon. Stop Gateway. Go First. These are the 3 ways to beat Samurai in my opinion, however it doesn't mean there aren't other ways but these are the most likely. So which decks have the best matchup against Samurai. In my opinion Stun has a great matchup against Samurai along with X Saber's and possibly Frog Monarchs. So yea basically next format is going to be full of frustration, laughter, thinking and rigged dice to get the choice of first or second (Only Joking xD)

Oh and before I leave people have asked me what I think of the new ban list or what will be on it. Personally I dont want to say these things are my predictions but they are more cards i would like to see something happen to them.

Gateway of The Six - Limited
Cold Wave - Banned
Mind Control - Banned
Monster Reborn - Banned
Judgment Dragon - Limited
Treeborn Frog - Limited
Dandylion - Limited
Heavy Storm - Limited
XX Saber Faultroll - Limited
Shien's Smoke Signal -Limited

Yea reasoning's should be kind of obvious so really no need to explain them. Either way I hope you guys enjoy my post's and hopefully my thoughts on upcoming formats, packs and cards.

What Is This Nonsense ...... A Perfected Deck

Hey Guys

Ok so I recently got sick of people all copying the Quickdraw deck I was playing so I decided to give it up and play something different. So at the moment I have gone back to Absolute Zero but this isn't going to be for long. I wanted to play something original and this is by far an original deck.

So here it is, my version of the Herald Of Perfection Deck.

[3] Nova Summoner
[3] Herald Of Perfection
[3] Manju Of The Ten Thousand Hands
[2] Honest
[2] Caius The Shadow Monarch
[2] Djinn Releaser Of Rituals
[1] Archlord Krystia
[1] Chaos Sorcerer
[1] Morphing Jar
[1] Sangan

[3] Book Of Moon
[3] Dawn Of The Herald
[1] My Body As A Sheild
[1] Mystical Space Typhoon
[1] Preperation Of Rights
[1] Giant Trunade
[1] Brain Control
[1] Heavy Storm

[3] Dimensional Prison
[2] Bottomless Trap Hole
[1] Call Of The Haunted
[1] Solemn Judgment
[1] Torrential Tribute
[1] Mirror Force

Ok so basically the idea of the deck is to lock down the opponent with Djinn Releaser Of Rituals meaning that they can't special summon and then further lock them with Herald Of Perfection. The best part of this deck is you can be holding no fairy's yet the opponent will still fear this card. With 2800 DEF it's not easy to destroy it by battle and removing it with another card such as Brionac or Dimensional Prison again is useless with it's effect.

Overall I've tested this deck for a short while and overall the results have been more than pleasing. At the moment Krystia hasn't done much and I feel there is better cards to play such as a third Caius and Djinn or maybe Senju and Sonic Bird. Either way I'll be testing this some more. The more I test this deck, the more I forget why I thought this strategy would never work. Either way thanks for putting up with my non consistent posts and as always i'll cya next time.

QuickDerbisJunkFrogMonarch....... Long Name ...... Long List Of Monsters

Hey guys. Just wanted to share my latest creation with you. This was inspired by Lightgrunty, however a previous idea had been made at SJC NJ. Anyways putting it simply this deck just synchro's lots and has the amazing control engine of monarchs. So here is the list

[3] Raiza The Storm Monarch
[3] Caius The Shadow Monarch
[3] Quickdraw Synchron
[3] Junk Synchron
[3] Debris Dragon
[3] Substitoad
[3] Dupe Frog
[3] Swap Frog
[2] Treeborn Frog
[2] Roanintoadin
[2] Dandylion

[1] Pot Of Avarice
[1] Moray Of Greed
[1] Mystical Space Typhoon
[1] Giant Trunade
[1] Foolish Burial
[1] Brain Control
[1] Heavy Storm
[1] One For One
[1] Cold Wave
[1] Scapegoat

Extra Deck

[2] Stardust Dragon
[2] Iron Chain Dragon
[2] Drill Warrior
[2] Nitro Warrior
[1] Junk Warrior
[1] Junk Archer
[1] Ally Of Justice Catastor
[1] Ancient Fairy Dragon
[1] Black Rose Dragon
[1] Brionac Dragon Of Ice Barrier
[1] Goyo Guardian

If you dont want to play the monarchs you can easily play flip flop frog and add in other cards such as morphing jar, sangan, battle fader and cyber valley. Either way this deck has an amazing control engine and has a similar feel to junk and debris. Although there are more monsters than a regular deck and it may seem weird this deck completely benefits from it. I dont really reccomend this that much for tournament play simply due to the lack of bieng able to side effectivly although you can side into a less monster heavy build if you so wish.

Hope you enjoyed this segment and like always enjoy.

Solid Sack Sams ..... Oh God I Just Got Sacked !!!!

Hey guys. After realising that Samurai couldn't cope with high Atk monsters and that they struggled without consistently getting Grandmaster I decided to try a new build of Samurai and it' working great.

[3] Great Shogun Shien
[3] Grandmaster Of The Six Samurai
[3] Six Samurai Zanji
[2] Six Samurai Irou
[2] Six Samurai Yaichi
[1] Six Samurai Nisashi
[2] Hand Of The Six Samurai
[1] Spirit Of The Six Samurai
[1] Enishi Shien's Chancellor

[3] Solidarity
[3] Six Samurai United
[3] Gateway Of The Six
[2] Book Of Moon
[1] Reinforcement Of The Army
[1] Mystical Space Typhoon
[1] Heavy Storm

[3] Reckless Greed
[2] Bottomless Trap Hole
[1] Call Of The Haunted
[1] Solemn Judgment
[1] Torrential Tribute
[1] Mirror Force

So basically this build usually gets an ok starting hand and thenthe 6th card makes it amazing similiar to how Lightsworn did it last format. This deck has lots of outs and can consistently beat down the opponent. At the moment my worry is that Book Of Moon isn't all that great except against Blackwing so I may drop them for 1 copy of My Body As A Shield and either a Reasoning or a Giant Trunade.

Either way I'll post about the results later on in my blog but for now this is just a short update on my deck.

Three Samurai's. Kinda Funny How People Call It Six And They Only Play Three

Hey guys I am officially off for Easter now and can continue blogging. Sorry about not posting once again. More and more things are coming up and I am just never finding time to sit down think of a topic and make an interesting blog post. Either way today's post is about my Six Samurai Deck.

Monsters: 18

[3] Grandmaster Of The Six Samurai
[3] Six Samurai - Zanji
[2] Six Samurai - Irou
[2] Six Samurai - Yaichi
[2] Hand Of The Six Samurai
[2] Spirit Of The Six Samurai
[2] Great Shogun Shien
[2] Cyber Dragon

[14] Spells

[3] Book Of Moon
[3] Six Samurai United
[3] Gateway Of The Six
[1] Reinforcement Of The Army
[1] Mystical Space Typhoon
[1] My Body As A Shield
[1] Brain Control
[1] Heavy Storm

Traps: 9

[3] Dimensional Prison
[2] Bottomless Trap Hole
[1] Call Of The Haunted
[1] Solemn Judgment
[1] Torrential Tribute
[1] Mirror Force

Side Deck: 15

[2] Trap Hole
[2] Dust Tornado
[2] Starlight Road
[2] Pulling The Rug
[2] Mirror Of Oaths
[2] Nobleman Of Crossou
[1] Great Shogun Shien
[1] Six Samurai - Kamon
[1] Six Samurai - Irou

Extra Deck: 15

[2] Chimeratech Fortress Dragon
[13] Other Synchro Monsters

Ok so this is the new Samurai Build I made for this format. Basically this format is really good at the moment. There are chances for every deck to win from Synchro Cat to even Fortune Lady's. So why did I choose Six Samurai ?

I chose Samurai as they do the 3 things in yugioh that make a good competetive deck.

1] Thin the deck or draw - This deck does both with Gateway and Six Samurai United
2] Special Summon - Does this conistently and easily
3] Change pace very quickly - This deck can do that with a simple summon or draw.

Ok so the basics of the deck are simple. You summon monster's gaining advantage through Gateway of The Six and Six Samurai United. You then use the Samurai effects to gain more advantage and then push for damage.

My build is a little more conservative. Playing 3 Dimensional Prison over the commonly played 3 Reckless Greed and not playing a 3rd Great Shogun Shien. I don't play Enishi, Shien's Chancellor either as I feel he is not needed.

The side deck is designed to give you a better matchup against the more commonly played decks and to counter other people's side deck options.

Either way at the moment this has been testing very well and has beaten decks that my Gadgets usually struggled to over come so we will see if I main this over my Gadgets in the next few days.

Regional Report 27/03/09

Hey guys this is basically what happened today in my regionals that I went to in Nottingham.

So I get up making sure I have my main deck, side deck, extra deck and all other essentials. I then leave for Nottingham. A short 45 mins later I arrive at Chimera. So I sit down, borrow 2 Breakers and finish my deck list. Round 1 goes up and I'm playing Potato Ye.

Round 1

Gadget Vs Stall,Chrystia Burn

Game 1: Basically all my cards are useless as he kept setting monsters and stalling to which a point comes and I basically scoop after I played Solemn.

Game 2: I sided in the Nobleman Of Crossouts and Dust Tornado's ready to kill his deck. First turn Nobleman hits his Marshmallon and I basically push with the Gadgets for game.

Game 3: Ok so I drew bad and he stalls for a while with Messenger Of Peace and after that I finally top an MST to kill his Wave Motion but he Dark Bribes. I drew and played Brain Control on his Gellenduo and attacked for game.

So Round 2 goes up and I'm on table 1

Gadgets Vs D.D Eatos

Game 1: I dont know what im playing but he opened Stratos to search Alius and then he set a lot of backrows so I thought it was either Gemini City or it was D.D Eatos and I was right, it was D.D Eatos. I play Fissure and play a Gadget. Got the plus and he draws. He tries to push with Alius which gets Dimensional Prison'd. He then decides to scoop after drawing nothing. He reveals he topped a Eatos when I played Fissure on his Stratos.

Game 2: Basically the same as Game 1 but instead of Dimensional Prison he gets hit by D.D Assailant.

Round 3 goes up on I'm on table 4

Gadgets Vs Hamster Monarch

Game 1: So he sets a lot of monsters and I realise I am playing Hamster Monarch, he controls the game as I fail to top a monster. I eventually get a Cyber Dragon but can't beat his Caius.

Game 2: I sided in the Noblemans and basically opened with a Nobleman turn 1 on a Hamster. He doesnt draw a lot then I control the game with Tragoedia and he scoops.

Game 3: He basically can't top a monster and I keep going Gadgets after Gadget for game.

Round 4 goes up and I'm on table 3

Gadgets Vs Flamvell Cat (Jake Quinsee)

Game 1: I open with Thunder King and control the game. I push for damage with the Gadgets and he then tries to go Summoner Monk but I have Oppression.

Game 2: Same as game 1 but I overextend with a Solemn Judgment and Starlight Road on the back.

Round 5 goes up and I'm on table 1 playing my friend Jamie Bell

Gadget Vs Blackwing

Game 1: I get deck checked and get a game loss for not writing Black Rose Dragon on my Deck list.

Game 2: I basically come back from a big field loss and I win after puting out Doomcaliber when he Mirror Force's I play Starlight Road.

Game 3: I basically put him on low life, He gets a Stardust and I have no out. I then get Brain Control wait and then play it with a Starlight Road on the back. I try and push for game but he has Threatening Roar which wins him the game

Round 6 goes up and I'm on table 2

Gadgets Vs Hamster Flamvell

Game 1: He opens up good and I open Bad. Drew no defence and he keeps going Hamster and getting Ryko then Caius's me.

Game 2: I rip the nuts and basically kill everything and control the game with Solemn, Oppression, Dimensional Prison and Bottomless Trap Hole

Game 3: I open ok and so does he. We both get down to low life and we are both looking for a monster. He has 1250 life, I have 2300 so I set Solemn and end. He then passes, I draw and play Gale and attack he tries to book and I Solemn for Game.

So all in all I wet 5 - 1 and had a good day. I pull nothing good except Drill Warrior which I trade for a bunch of starship stuff including 2 Ulti Victory Viper XX03

Basically the list is the exact same as my previous deck but the side changed. I lost the Sirocco's and Light Mirrors and Twisters and Played Nobleman Of Crossout, Dust Tornado's And Breakers.
